urope: L3 per year RCAFF stands for the Real Camden Arts Festival Forever. Which has been in direct opposition with the prestige Camden Festival for the last three years.
The only way RCAFF has existed for three years was on the streets and on Hampstead Heath.
The prestige Camden Festival has been as far as we know Tory-controlled over this period, and within this framework it has become a power struggle between the petty bureaucrats, who try desperately to control self-expressions with their reactionary capitalistic propaganda.
This year there is no fringe festival, only a total purge on self-expression and more law & order, this time one pays 15/- to read one's poems in the Round House and there is a book of greedy poets at the price of 10/6 or £3 3s.
RCAFF stands for revolution in selfexpressionism. We do not believe that art is a commodity for sale, but an exchange of views and a coming-together to build a society in which all are equal and are allowed to express themselves and to participate to the full. 3 p.m. and march through the streets ofCamden. We shall be giving out leaflets telling people how corrupt the Prestige Festival really is, and we hope all those that are not working on May Day will join us. All through the month of May RCAFF will be carrying out its activities throughout the Borough. The Heath will be used every weekend. All who want to join in just contact us and we will support you. Various people and groups are helping us, like Tony Crerer, who is doing mime shows on the roofs of council flats to see how many tenants he can pull away from their mass media idols. Also Cornelius Cardew's Scratch Orchestra will be on the Heath on May 9th.
Other activities like poetry, plays, music, paintings, and lots more you will meet on th streets during the month. Our aims are to smast the Prestige Festival, and RCAFF hopes after this all over the country other groups will do-the the same. The system affects all life so let us all unite using our self-expressions as tools with which to fight.
